Vandals damage Smartsville Post Office lobby

Investigators are working to identify the suspect or suspects that vandalized the lobby of the Smartsville Post Office over the weekend.

No mail was stolen during the incident, U.S. Postal spokesman Troy Dickinson said.

Damage was described as “minor” and was limited to the three post office boxes, Dickinson said.

Yuba County sheriff’s deputies were called around 7 p.m. Monday to the office in the 8400 block of Smartsville Road.

Sheriff’s Lt. Damon Gil said investigators are hoping for the public’s assistance identifying the perpetrators.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department at 749-7777.
