Plumas Lake marijuana suspects post bail

March arraignment dates have been set for two of the three people arrested last week in a $1 million marijuana raid in Plumas Lake.

All three defendants -- Guo Xiong Li, Jian Xiong Liu, and Shi Yuan Kuang -- posted bail within hours of their arrests Thursday, authorities said. Li and Liu were ordered to appear March 20 for arraignment in Yuba County Superior Court. However, Kuang’s first court appearance was not known Tuesday.

All defendants are assigned arraignment dates when upon posting bail, officials said, but no records could be located at the Yuba County Jail, the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department, the Yuba County District Attorney’s Office or Yuba County Superior Court.

All three were arrested Thursday in Plumas Lake [read story] on suspicion of a variety of marijuana cultivation charges.

Narcotics agents said they were investigating possible connections to organized drug trafficking operations overseas, but said those suspected ties remain unclear.
