Letter: Check out talented Yuba College men's team

How often do you hear the phrase "There's nothing for kids to do in our area?"

Yet a show of incredible athleticism and skill is being played out in our own backyard by the Yuba College 49ers basketball team, but very few people are interested in attending these games.

You do not even have to be a fan of basketball to appreciate the expertise and energy players Anthony Romero, Spencer "Butters" Butterfield, Deaundray Robinson and the rest of the team brings to every game. Yuba City High School graduate Tyler Fry is a valued combo guard.

The team is rated second in Northern California and third in the state. These athletes should be signing autographs and playing to standing room only crowds instead of to a sparsely filled gym. Every home game is a wonderful event right here in our area that people of all ages can enjoy. Where is everybody?
