Letter: Political posturing to blame

The recent debt debacle and the resulting downgrade by Standard & Poor's has been met with the two political parties more divided than ever.

The leader of the free world has been in denial and assumes no responsibility for our current fiscal crisis.

In the aftermath, the American people who were invested in the market with retirement accounts have taken another financial beating.

The president comes out and states that the United States will always be a AAA rated country. Have you ever heard of the Obama Credit Rating Agency?

Our country has been on an unsustainable path of self-destruction and no one on the left wants to be held accountable. The congressional leadership has been deaf to the will of the electorate.

It's time to put the pedal to the metal and elect representatives who pass policies for the good of all the people and get our nation back on a path to prosperity.

The left is demonizing the tea party when it appears the tea party caucus were the only ones that addressed the debt issue head on, and if adopted would have avoided our nation's downgrading of its credit rating.

The shot was fired across the bow by Moody's and the S&P, and the majority in Congress chose to ignore the warning. They instead chose political posturing over the common-sense cuts required to get our fiscal house in order.

Hope hasn't come and our change is disappearing.
