90th Birthday: Herman
Longtime Olivehurst resident Emery C. Herman is celebrating his 90th birthday.
He and his twin brother, the late Everett Herman, were born Feb. 14, 1922, in Lucas, Kan.
A Yuba-Sutter resident since 1947, he worked for several garages in the area and retired from the Sacramento Airport four years ago.
He has been a member of the Golden Feather Riders for more than 50 years and is active in the sheriff’s posse in Yuba and Sutter counties.
He served in the Army during World War II and later joined the Air Force.
His family includes his wife of 66 years, Imogene; daughters Patricia Herman of Olivehurst, Donna Jeanette Freeman of Covington, Ga., and Sharon Ann Chism of Harrison, Ark.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
